Landfill gas power generation project IN Hongmiaoling, Fuzhou
Completion time:November 2007
Business model:EPC general contracting
Project overview:
Hongmiaoling landfill gas power generation project was a renewable energy project which used the landfill gas generated by waste to generate power through gas internal combustion generator unit. The construction site of the project was located in Hongmiaoling Landfill Site in Beifeng, Jin'an District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. The installed capacity of the project was 1668kW. The project scope included biogas collection engineering, closure engineering, power generation engineering and public works. Upon completion of the project, 60,000-80,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions were reduced per year. In the meantime, 13.28 million kWh power was output to the power grid. The project was the first landfill gas power generation project in Fujian Province and also Fujian Province's first project in the field which successfully applied for CDM (United Nations Clean Development Mechanism).
This project was successfully connected to the grid in November, 2007 and was officially put into operation in January, 2008. The successful operation of the project not only avoided the irreversible environmental pollution caused by free landfill gas emissions, but also contributed green power and created good social benefits, environmental benefits and economic benefits.
