In Aug. 2002, Shanghai MicroPowers Ltd. was jointly funded
and established by China Shipping Industry Corporation,
Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute. The
corporate business scope includes the following: design,
research & development, production and sales of Stirling
engines and other power sets using highly efficient clean
energies; research & development, production and sales
of electromechanical, energy-saving and environment-friendly
equipment; provision of four types of technological services,
including technological development, technology transfer,
technical consultancy and technical services (including
technical training and technical intermediate services).
The backbone of Shanghai MicroPowers Ltd. mainly consists
of personnel from the Stirling Engine Engineering Research
Center of 711 Research Institute. The main purpose of
restructuring is to achieve management and technological
innovation through adoption of a new system. The corporate
assets are over RMB 100 million.
String Engine Research & Development Center boasts
of a glorious history and has won a number of awards from
the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for
National Defense and China State Shipbuilding Corporation,
altogether 3 First Prizes and 5 Second Prizes for Advance
of Science and Technology. Many high-level leaders and
experts have inspected the Center, and the Center has
won many honorable titles, including Outstanding Collective
of Advanced Research from Commission of Science Technology
and Industry for National Defense, Outstanding Collective
of Advanced Research from China State Shipbuilding Corporation,
Model Unit of 711 Research Institute, Shanghai Model Collective
in Labor twice respectively in 1995 and 1998.
The company has a highly qualified professional research
team with solid foundation, rich experiences and proficient
and precise research style. 85% of the staff are bachelors
or above and 45% of the staff are masters or above. 50%
of the staff holds senior professional titles.
Equipped with advanced software such as Pro/E, Ansys,
Phoenics, Labview, Matrixx and Fluent, a number of imported
processing centers, and nationally first-rate testing
laboratories and testing equipment, the company is of
abundant comprehensive strength in design, development,
production, testing, services, etc.
