The Dish Type Solar Thermal Power Generation Technology of MicroPowers Ltd. is shown in Shanghai Science and Technology Activity Week

On May 17-23, the annual "Shanghai Science and Technology Activity Week" was held in Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing. The theme this year is "Scientific Living, Fulfilling Dreams through Innovations". In order to be close to the theme of the event, SMDERI made careful arrangements and selected elaborately. Finally, the dish type Stirling solar thermal power generation device independently researched and developed by MicroPowers Ltd. stood out among the many options. This device uses the principle of parabolic concentrator to realize the direct conversion of solar energy to electric energy through Stirling engine. This device is close to the public life and has the characteristics of high technology content, so it is favored by the Organizing Committee.


In order to actively participate in public welfare undertakings and widely spread the popular science knowledge of the Sterling engine and its application, under the strong support of the Comprehensive Office of the SMDERI, the solar project team of MicroPowers Ltd. showed active cooperation. In addition to arranging the booth and designing the exhibition board, the scaling model of the dish type Stirling solar thermal power generation device was moved to the scene so that the public can more visually understand the working principle, structural characteristics and applications of the device. During the event, every day the booth was surrounded with curious visitors. The members of the project team enthusiastically gave explanations in detail and answered the questions of the visitors one by one. The model that can automatically track the sun like the sunflower also amazed the children. The visitors were very interested in its clever working principle. This exhibition also caught the attention of several mainstream media in China. Researcher Zhu Chenyuan, leader of the project, received the live interview with CCTV and Shanghai TV. He briefly introduced the operation principle and process of the dish type power generation system (see the details of the interview from the 41st program of the Code of Science and Technology on the Documentary Channel of Shanghai TV). Through the publicity of a variety of media, the visitors had a preliminary understanding of the dish type power generation system, experienced and felt the power of science and technology, which laid a certain mass base for promoting the dish type power system in the future.


The Science and Technology Activity Week this time realized the original intention of letting more people understand the dish type power generation system project, which further deepened the sense of urgency for product research and development. The benefits and inspiration from this event will be reflected in the specific work in the future.
